The
'Scorpio'
Hallstrom Holdings' primary vessel for the search,
identification and excavation of deep-water shipwrecks. Built as an Arctic trawler in
1949, the 'Scorpio' operates well in exteme weather conditions. Measuring 148 feet long,
she is a Single Screw with variale pitch, bow and stern thruster. After she was purchased
by the company in 1994, the vessel was outfitted with state of the art salvaging
equipment, ready to sail in June 1995. Her first assignment was to locate the wreck of the
'RMS Douro' in European waters, and her work has led her to the coasts of Somalia,
Mauritius, Madagascar and South Africa.

The
'Benjamin'
The 'Benjamin' was built as a Survey Ship in Norway in 1983. She was formerly installed
with the Scorpio ROV that was to be transferred onboard the 'Scorpio'. Joystick
controlled. Built in HPR 309, 80 feet. Twin Screw variable Pitch, Bow and Stern Thruster.

The
'Talvas'
The 'Talvas' - a 50 feet motor yacht - was built in Taiwan in 1983. Displacement 23 tons.
Twin screw. Presently in Indonesia, she is ideal for South East Asia during transit
periods (in between monsoons) in the South China Sea. During monsoon seasons she works in
Indonesian Islands and Malacca Straits. |
The Equipment
Hallstrom Holdings owns and operates a sizeable collection of highly sophisticated,
state of the art equipment, making the company one of the most well-equipped, enabled
salvaging companies world-wide - for scientific studies and surveys, and for salvage,
seabed and cargo recovery.

LR2 Submersible - a Glass
Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Submersible with a depth rating of 1200 feet (366m) and internal
accommodation for two crew members. GRP - a non-corroding material - provides superior
insulation for the crew compartment from the severe temperatures encountered at great
depths. With exceptional manouverability, the LR2 is an ideal sub-sea work vehicle. |
