THE LOSS OF THE DOURO

The Mayor of Southamton, Mr. W.H. Davis, has given notice that the relief fund, which now amounts to about Pounds 1,260, will be finally closed on the 30th inst., and request that all claimants will send in detailed particulars of their claims before that date, or they will be excluded from any participation in the benefit of the fund. The Anglo-Brazilian Times of May 9 announces that the subscription promoted by Chefe de Divisao Arthur Silveira da Motta, at Rio de Janeiro, for the widows and children of the lost officers and crew of the Douro amounts to Pounds 800 or Pounds 900.
