THE LOSS OF
THE DOURO
The Mayor of Southamton, Mr.
W.H. Davis, has given notice that the relief fund, which now
amounts to about Pounds 1,260, will be finally closed on the
30th inst., and request
that all claimants will send in detailed particulars of their
claims before that date, or they will be excluded
from any participation in the benefit of the fund. The
Anglo-Brazilian Times of May 9 announces that the subscription
promoted by Chefe de Divisao Arthur Silveira da Motta, at
Rio de Janeiro, for the widows
and children of the lost officers and crew of the Douro
amounts to Pounds 800 or Pounds 900.
